CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY: Bartholomew Dennison had always been an important figure with the 'old crowd' in the Magical world. He was a descendant of Everard Dennison, one of the many Headmasters to run Hogwarts School. He was offered (begged, in fact) to teach Potions at the school, but he had his heart set on something else; The Apothecary. He devoted his life to finding solutions to everyday problems and even some not-so-common problems. He wanted to be innovative, and he wanted to do this through his potions. He wanted to do something extraordinary, and in time he had. During this time he'd also met the love of his life, Mathilda Roy, a muggle. When he was studying abroad in Ireland, she had been the one to bring him pint after pint. Bartholomew was able to convince Mathilda to follow him back to London, and there he told her the truth bout who he was, what he was. She decided she wanted to be apart of it, or at least - learn what she had to, to be in his life. They had high hopes for a big family, but that wasn't meant to be. They only had one boy - Leon. By that time, Bartholomew's work was becoming less and less advance, and it was as if they were going backwards in time, not forwards. Mathilda, being an heir to a large sum of money, made it possible for Leon to attend Hogwarts, with little to no pressure, and after a freak accident with a potion concoction, Bartholomew decided to take the early retirement route. As soon as the first signs of Voldermort's rise came about, they fled to Ireland, where the wizard would live out the rest of his days being anything but a wizard.
Leon Wilfred Dennison had always been a small boy. He had a big name to live up to, and a lot of pressure being one of the last descendants from the Dennison bloodline. The family was well-known at Hogwarts, but it was apparent in Leon's last year, he would not be going down in the history books, and if anything, he was already forgotten. Leon struggled through schooling, and was lucky enough to land a job at the Ministry of Magic, working on the fifth level, making sure all busy work was done for the important people. He met his wife Emilie when she was assigned the desk opposite him. The woman had at least 3' on him, and had typically always been the one in control when it came to their relationship. He was at a very young age, not yet twenty when his father and mother bailed out on him. It was left to Emilie to help him cope, and get through the dark times that were ahead. He had nowhere to run to, and no other family to help support him, so she filled that position and they married before all of the bad things started happening. They continued working together and eventually both had promotions and began working with the people at the top.
Him and Emilie were lucky and survived the first rise of the Dark Lord with no scratches, and no losses. They considered themselves lucky and when things started looking bright, they decided it was time to start a family. Leonardo Wesley Dennison was born on December the 22th in the year nineteen ninety. What they considered to be a blessing, ending up feeling more of a curse as the Dark Lord was yet again on the rise. They weren't very important people, and they hardly ever associated with muggles, but they had no idea what to think, or who to trust. The Dark Lord was a dark Lord, indeed and decided to focus on those who had helped the muggles and half-bloods get an education at Hogwarts. Everard was one of the first Headmasters to begin allowing muggles access into the school, and encouraged half-bloods to see to it that their muggle side of the family had a chance to become a witch or a wizard. Even though Leon had not helped these beliefs accumulate, he ended up taking the fall for what good his ancestor did. His name was written down on Voldemort's little list, and his fate was in the hands of all the Death Eaters trying their best to show their devotion. It was 1997 when Leon had taken a 5 year old Leo out of the house for a day. Emilie had taken the day off to catch up on the house budgets and try to contact Leon's parents in Ireland to see if there would be a safe haven for her and the family. With more and more reports of death coming in, she wanted to get them away until things had settled again, or at least until Voldemort was defeated. What good she was doing ended up leading to her demise. Two Death Eaters, a male and a female who - to this day - are still left unnamed, came in and ransacked their home. Killing the person they assumed to be their target. They were very wrong, and since that day Leon has not spoken one word to his son, or to anyone for that matter.
Leonardo spent the rest of his childhood living with his mute father. He was the one to purchase all of his books for school, and he walked alone on his very first trip to Platform 9 and 3/4. That was when Leo had his real transformation. He wasn't going to end up like his father, and he was going to take what little strength was left in his name to make him well-known. To make him immortal. He was lucky enough to share a compartment with three 4th years who couldn't believe Leo was only a first year. He didn't look a thing like his father, and for that he was secretly glad. He considered himself lucky to inherit his mother's confidence, and the only good he got from his father was the ability to stay calm in heated situations. His first five years at Hogwarts had allowed him to put more than a foot in the door. He was on his way to becoming a legend. Quick-witted, a fast learner, all aces on the broomstick, and a staple for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. For forty years the Dennison name had become quite a blur, and it was his goal by the end of his seventh year to make it echo in every hallway.
